This program is designed to allow the owner to stay in their home after the shorts sale. Yes, you can stay
in your home after the short sale.
The SSB allows a non-profit organization to purchase the property via a short sale approved by the homeowner's
current lender. A recent US Treasury directive to the HAFA program provides an option for the homeowner
to lease back or re-purchase the property. This option was previously not allowed due to
arms-length agreements required by lenders. We work with a non-profit organization that will leaseback to
the homeowner with an option to re-purchase anytime within a 3-year period near today's current value.
